Disguising Your Hero for the Part they are Playing
There are several quests in the game where you are required to put on a disguise to sneak past guards and into the enemy’s camp to free prisoners. These outfits are free and can be found in boxes, crates and baskets sprinkled about the countryside.
If you get caught you can loose the outfit but they are renewable.The costumes can be armor or something simple like a servants outfit like the blue one in this picture.So the idea of dressing up is one that you come to accept in the game and there are several ways that you can do this.
After you have been playing for a while, you also come to realize that the build of your character is very important to your progress and advancement through the various adventures of the game. Now there is a mountain of information available about what weapons and what special skills and abilities that your character should have, however what is the point of having this fabulous character, with a terrific build, if he/ she does not look good or is dressed inappropriately for the role that they are playing? That is where buying an outfit to suit your character and the various roles he/she may take up during the game or the climate he/ she may be going through can make your game play more aesthetically pleasing to the eye. The good news is that the outfit you choose goes over your character’s armor and in no way effects the strength and special skills of your character. In other words the outfit is a cosmetic overlay. These overlays can be purchased from the ESO Store using crowns as currency and come in a huge variety of styles, materials and themes.
Here are a few that you might like to dress your character up in. The good news is that if you purchase one outfit, all of your characters have the option of wearing it.
Here is how you do it.
(This is for PC Players.)
Press the “,” (comma) key on your keyboard and it will bring up this menu. This is the crown store where you can buy all manner of interesting things.
You go to “Wardrobe”, then the “Costumes” options. From here you can choose your outfit. When you have checked them all out and are ready to buy one you right click on that particular outfit that you want. A little box will appear saying purchase bundle. Providing you have enough crowns in your store the bundle will be sent to your in game inventory.
Your new costume will be stored under, “ Collections” after pressing ‘I” for inventory. It is that easy to do. Oh, and by the way, before you purchase your outfit you are able to try it on first by simply pressing the magnifying glass to get a preview. You can swivel you character around to get a good look at how your character will appear in the game.
The same preview technique also applies when using color dyes for your outfit but that is a whole new subject.
