Blacksmithing and How to Craft Gear in ESO

Crafting may appear to be more difficult than it actually is . The crafting in ESO is simple and will only take you a short time to master. This guide will give you an overview and give you a better understanding of just how simple crafting in ESO really is.

These three different crafting skills will allow you to craft gear for yourself and your friends.

  • Blacksmithing – Heavy armor and Melee weapons
  • Clothing – Medium and Light Armor
  • Woodworking – Bows and Staves

Blacksmithing

First we will discuss the basics of the Blacksmithing skill line. Blacksmithing can only be done at the Blacksmithing station. These are generally found at the towns and cities and you may also find them in random places throughout the world. There is also Special stations which are around the world and these are where you must go when creating the unique set items.

Gathering Ore

Gathering ore is necessary for this skill. You will come across ore while venturing throughout the world and it is faily common. There are various types of ore available.

Refining Raw Ore

Refining ore that you gathered is the first step towards creating crafted items. You are going to need 10 ore to refine and turn into ingots or metals bars. Also sometimes you may even get other useful materials for your Blacksmithing! You are able to refine items that are in your bank or bags or bank. Whenever you create or deconstruct an item you will receive inspiration which is experience in that skill line.

Weapons Traits

  • Charged – Increases enchantment charges
  • Defending – Increases total armor and spell resistance
  • Infused – Increases weapon enchantment
  • Powered – Reduces cooldown of weapon enchantments
  • Precise – Increases weapon & spell critical value
  • Sharpened – Increases armor and spell penetration
  • Training – Increases weapon skill line experience with weapon type
  • Weighted – Increases weapon attack speed

Armor Traits

  • Divines – Increase your mundus stone effects
  • Exploration – Increases exploration experience
  • Impenetrable – Increases resistance to critical strikes
  • Infused – Increases armor enchantment effect
  • Sturdy- Items take reduced durability loss
  • Training – Increases armor skill line experience with armor type
  • Reinforced – Increases item’s armor value
  • Well Fitted – Decreases cost of Sprinting
